1970 Chevrolet Nova $21,900
Fully restored in 1992, this Nova has been garage kept, but has seen occasional daily driver duties over the years. It has also been modified/upgraded in several areas, hence why I won't claim it to be "mint".
The car was originally a 307 V8 with a TH350 transmission, but is now powered by a 5.7 liter (350 CI) "Vortec" L31 with a Tremec 5-speed manual. This combination spins a custom-made aluminum driveshaft to the factory rear end sporting what I believe are 3.23 gears.
The car has factory-equipped R12 air conditioning, which works flawlessly. Under-hood modifications include a Griffin aluminum radiator, automatic dual electric fans, serpentine belt system, 105 amp internally regulated alternator, electric fuel pump with cutoff switch, Mallory fender-mount coil, an electronic (points-less) distributor with adjustable rev-limiter, and an Edelbrock Performer intake & carb setup with K&N filter. The exhaust is a custom, mandrel bent, true dual 2-1/2" system with Flowmaster Super 44 mufflers, exiting straight back through 3" polished stainless tips.
The suspension is mostly stock, but the original rear mono leaf springs have been replaced with Super Sport multi leafs and air shocks. The front anti-roll bar (sway bar) has been upgraded to 1-1/8". The brakes were originally unpowered, 4-wheel drums, but the fronts have been upgraded to factory-style discs with Hawk HPS pads and stainless steel braided flex hoses (front & rear). All four wheels are black painted, factory steel rally with original trim rings and "cop car" half-moon center caps.
Interior modifications include custom covered bucket seats and matching rear bench, a Grant GT steering wheel, column mounted tachometer, custom center console, and a modern stereo head unit with CD player & AUX input feeding upgraded speakers.
Paint condition is a solid 8.5/10. I've driven this car on several road trips including a long weekend at Tail of the Dragon, so the paint does show some rock chips and scuffs; but they are not obvious without close inspection. There is also a small dent on the driver side roof thanks to an unfortunate mishap with a garage door.
