This is a 1963 Studebaker Avanti originally delivered as an R-1 that is now set up as an R-3. The R-3 configuration features

- Paxton Supercharger as originally delivered on all R-2,
R-3’s

- R-3 Aluminum air box enclosing (1) 4 barrel carb

- Original Studebaker 289 V-8 engine over bored by .060 -
304 ci.

Summary:

The car was originally delivered to a dealer in Carmichael, California and to best of our
knowledge has resided in California since spending a brief time in Minnesota for restoration in the mid 1990’s.

Car was purchased in 2009 from the prior owner who had the car since 1986 and put it through a 5 year ‘body on’ restoration.
A second body on restoration was begun in November of 2009.

63R-2552 now has a period correct Studebaker 289 which was rebuilt and over bored by .060 to R-3 spec by noted Studebaker specialist Jon
Myers of Myers Studebaker.
