This Frankenbeast was the result of a bet going around us Pacific NW gearheads:  The object was to build the most "Portland" vehicle. That is, a rugged 4x4 or all wheel drive utility vehicle with rally car handling and a fear-no-obstactle attitude. The Subaru was the car of choice for me. It already had great AWD capabilities and had a solid track record for reliability. I decided to give it lots of ground clearance with a ten inch block lift. A sturdy 4000# winch was attached to the custom tube bumper to help drag myself out of particularly sticky situations. I mounted a 24" LED light bar to the top and added LED fog lights below for maximum visibility. A few grenade stickers went well with the grenade mounted at the base of my CB radio whip. Also on board was a fully functional air system so that flat tires could be filled on the go. I was very proud of my FrankenRoo. If only I had spent more time in the shop in prototype mode instead of busting out to conquer the world before all the welds had chance to dry.
